Housing Canada Coalition

The Housing Canada Coalition is a partnership between the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH), Habitat for Humanity Canada, the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), and the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA).

Our coalition first came together in 2024, united by our collective vision to fix the housing crisis. As organizations representing housing providers, real estate agents, homebuilders, the community housing sector, affordable homeownership, and the movement to end homelessness – we all have a shared stake in finding solutions so every Canadian has a safe, affordable place to call home.

When our work together started, we were facing down a worsening housing and homelessness crisis – with increasing mortgage and rent costs, an inadequate supply of affordable housing, and rising homelessness in communities across the country.

Now, in the face of a trade war and increasing economic tensions, Canadians and our housing system face new and serious pressures.

We know that Canada is at a crossroads, and we have a choice: we can let this moment deepen our housing crisis, or we can use it to make things better—to protect Canadians and our housing system.

At this critical moment, we are calling on all federal parties—and the next government—build a housing system that works for everyone.

Together, we are working to end the housing game.
